Food adulteration means anything that adds or removes making the food unfit for consumption. This forgery may or may not be intentional. Food adulteration has become a widespread practice in our country and we consume these foods almost daily, which have numerous harmful effects on our health. Adulterated foods that contain toxic chemicals like formalin are common and regularly used in fish, fruits, meat, and milk, causing various types of cancer, asthma, and skin diseases. Dyes, calcium carbide, urea, motor oil, and even some approved preservatives are used in excessive amounts that attack various organs in the human body. Most often it causes cancers such as colon, stomach ulcers, chronic liver disease including cirrhosis and liver failure, electrolyte imbalances, and eventually kidney failure. Heart disease, blood disorders, and bone marrow abnormalities are also detected. The probability of malignancy increases and neurological disorders or brain functions are also often affected. Skin problems, including allergic manifestations, are often seen.
